“We know the greatness of a ger, a ger tzadick. A man who converts to Judaism out of righteousness, without any ulterior motives, is zoche, becomes worthy of an especial merit. We have to love him וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָָ like we love any other fellow Jew and וְאָהַבְתָם את הגרּ a special love that we love gerim. A ger must be loved twice as much. And the Rambam says a reason, הגר שבא ונכנס תחת כנפי השכינה if he comes and enters under the wing of the shechina, which means voluntarily, he deserves a special recognition.”
